Total and Partial Immersion Thermometers

 

Every ASTM thermometer is built for a defined immersion depth, because the wetted length of the stem influences the reading. We supply both total immersion thermometers, which are immersed up to the top of the liquid column, and partial immersion thermometers, which are immersed only to a marked line on the stem. Selecting the correct immersion type is what keeps results comparable between laboratories and compliant with the relevant ASTM, IP or BS test method. Both stem type and enclosed type designs are available.
