Plastic hydrometers made in Germany
The hydrometers from Ludwig Schneider are manufactured completely in Wertheim, Germany. Every instrument is carefully adjusted and passes a strict quality control. Its individual serial number keeps the determined values traceable to the instrument. Our plastic hydrometers are offered with different measuring units such as specific gravity, density, Oechsle, % mass, Brix and degrees Baumé.

Hydrometers made of plastic for more product safety
Glass instruments can break, and in an open production process every splinter is a risk. The shatterproof and HACCP compliant plastic hydrometer is therefore an excellent alternative to conventional glass hydrometers wherever product safety in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry has to be ensured. Polycarbonate combines the clarity needed for a precise reading with a robustness that suits daily use in production.
Measurement with plastic hydrometers: ranges, resolution and accuracy
Depending on the version, our plastic hydrometers cover 1.000 to 1.620 g/cm³ specific gravity, 0 to 71 °Bé and 0 to 90 % mas (°Brix). The resolution is 0.002 g/cm³, 0.2 °Bé and 0.2 % mas, with an accuracy of ±0.002 g/cm³, ±0.2 °Bé and ±0.2 % mas. Reference temperatures of +15 °C, +20 °C and 60/60 °F are available. Available types are density hydrometers, salinometers for common salt, wine scales according to Oechsle and saccharimeters. All versions are supplied without an integrated thermometer. As an accessory we supply cylindrical stands made of glass.
